I've just attended a dinner earlier this evening which commemorated NECF's ( National Evangelical Christian Fellowship ) 25th anniversary. Haiyen, Annette & I were present there all thanks to jinli & the cheah family.. They rock.. Anyway it was a good time for dinner coz all our appetites were worked up but as how these dinner functions would be there were speeches. Oh yeah, & a short but surprisingly good worship too...
p/s: if william would ever read this; they nailed "How Great is Our God" with "How Great Thou Art" majestically with a double build up in How Great Thou Art!
Ok, back to the topic. Why did I choose to write about this dinner? It's not because I just wanna post another clog entry to keep readers interested neither because it just happened to me & as if you wanna know bout that haha... but rather I wanna let you know how God spoke to me through a paralyzed lady. We were so hungry we devoured the dishes quite quickly but half way through the meal we were interrupted for a message from Joni Eareckson Tada & honestly I was not keen of listening to a sermon in the middle of dinner. But this lady who was paralyzed & riden on a wheelchair for 40 years spoke prophetically words that awakened my heart. She spoke of how God opposes the proud, those who live life daily on their own thinking they have christianity & God all figured out. & God raises up the humble, the ones who understand their mortality & relies on God daily. This got me thinking which of these 2 am I? She continued giving her life testimonies of how God allowed her disability to draw her near to God & looking forward to the ultimate goal of our life which is to live with Jesus forever. I was convicted that she was the prophet as of old that evening who has come to "warn" us if I may use that word. It got thinking that treasures of the world is momentary so why strive for what will not last?
I'm losing words right now but all I have to say is that God is speaking to His children to wake up from their slumber because the days are evil & the hour draws nigh. I've been spoken to, where, when &/or through whom will He speak to you? Please take heed. He weeps...

Author: matthew /I spilled milk....
Author: matthew /You joyfully prance into the kitchen longing for a glass of pasteurized milk that is freshly stored into the refrigerator just a day after its purchase. You pull the refrigerator's handle opening the door releasing a gentle gust of cool air which tingles your toes. Upon a brief glance over the glorious view of the bountiful low temperature preserved food & leftovers, you nearly forgot to thank God for such blessings & reaches straight towards the beverage holder behind the fridge door which holds the pack of fresh cow's milk. "Doong" the fridge door closes shut with the pack of milk emptied from its belly. You conveniently grab a glass from the kitchen cabinet & hastilly but skillfully pours out a generous volume into the once empty glass. In all glee you raise the glass in your hand nearing it to your lips not expecting the tragedy that is to follow. The liquid formed around the glass almost immediately after the chilled milk rested on the inner surface created a slippery grip threatening to surrender itself to gravity. To your horror you realize that the natural cause & effect of condensation has got the best of your experienced hands, slipping the glass from your fingers calling an adrenaline rush which sadly fails to intercept the falling glass in mid air. It crashes to the ground from a height of more than a metre. Splattered milk, broken glass pieces & a mess was all you see after a disturbing noise vibrates into your ears...You feel disappointed for wasting what you favor & remorse for breaking something that was a whole. But you did not mean for it to happen...... Have you ever witnessed something that you treasure being broken at your own hands? Especially when you don't mean to do it? Could you have turned back time & undo your mistake? May you know this, I would have never wished it happened.... Yes, everyone I broke a glass today....
Back!
Author: matthew /hello.....this my first post for the year 2007!.... Just wanna revive my bloggy after a long break which is caused by many very legitimate reasons ( so dont blame me for being lazy :P). Juz found out that blogspot is now called the "new blogspot" or something & the fact that we're all forced to use gmail accounts in order to claim & keep our bloggies haha.... google must be financing blogspot well. It was like "from now on your gmail account will your primary email in blogspot!" (sounds like mafia eh..) Please stay tuned for more :)
Brain Creation Conspiracy (BCC)
Author: matthew /Hmm......it is said that research has proven a human's left brain initiates logic, language and everything else that society recognises as 'smart'. Whereas on the right side of the brain which is the "more neglected part" initiates emotions, art, aesthetic and maybe the feminine part of every man haha.....who knows? Alright minus the latter point. Do you know which part of your brain is stronger or more outstanding than the other? Most people should, if you're confused with my question I simply mean are you aware of what you're outstandingly good at or at least excel from the others? Some may be good at language, some at math & numerals, also some at socializing and others at artistic stuff regardless of range from fine arts to music. Most of the time people are wired with different specialities if I may use that term and with the right combination will fit you into a specific part of society. eg: spanking math + logic + ferocious critical thinking & ideas = engineers ( with or without spectacles and nerd proof ).
Some may accuse me of being naive retorting that each can be cultivated through much work but may I say that sometimes that may be the rarest of case. Even if you succeed in that cultivation program it would still not be your best. Come to think of this.....where do I stand? left brainer or the right? I'm somewhere in between......This sparks my favor in the song by Lifehouse that has the same title. My combo leaves me cruelly in between the science & art world. Gosh, this fizzles me off! Dilemma is my common cold now...Don't get me wrong I'm not blaming God for creating me this way. Cause I'm sure under my hood everything is exactly as it is in His blueprint. Hey, this is no conspiracy at all! Which means there is a reason for my case and for everyone else' that is to be discovered individually where we belong but I have yet to discover the road paved ahead of me. This means I'll have to hold His hand and walk through this great adventure a step at a time. Notice the comforting part in my last sentence? Yeah, I know. I love it too, not alone but guided by the Almighty One. Ah..I love Him. :)
As it was unto Joshua

You took my hand and we walked beside the river
And you said don't be afraid be strong
I'm with you....
Hustling with a Bustling life
Author: matthew /To be honest, life ain't easy since college begun. Actually whose is easy right? As loads of work is piled up I could barely adjust myself from all the idling :P Each morning worries pop up like weed. But what good is it to worry when it does not add a day to my life? I can't go through these few years so I'm clinging on the One who can! :)
