A hearted musician

The unfamiliar noise, the unwanted ringing in the air... No one, absolutely no one would ever be able to enjoy this kind of music, they told me... A genre too depressing for the emotionally equipped, a piece too difficult for the skilled pianist to execute. Why did I have to hear this scribble of notes in the air in the midst of all the harmony to my music? Playing a piece which I thought was so beautiful but at the same time challenges my stamina & taking much necessary toll on myself it finally calls for an early outro on a wrong note. "This is no good!" they commented. Hey, let me go through it again..whats wrong? Its a darn fine composition if you ask me. Look at all the perfect notes I've put in here & how do you beat this arrangement? Perhaps you can play my music with much more heart & soul but I truly doubt it my friend. Oh...oh.. I think I know whats the matter, argh... how ignorant I've been. My music has been playing on a monotone. Hold on, let me flick the stereo switch... This is not good..I can't find it! Only then have I discovered that the switch doesn't exist. Not clear if it ever did. An ending to my piece, too late has it arrive because it is playing me instead. The curtain call was anything but grand. Disguised with applause of empathy I call you a bluff. Very well then, I shall cease my playing. Because I long to make nothing but fine music.

She's getting married..

Author: matthew /

I was in a moment of dismay last week which I thought the moment lasted a little too long. It doesn't really relate to me, at least not directly but it could have been! Haha... You might find this laughable at the end but hey! its my free space here :) I recently came across a video clip of the 2007 Vodafone New Zealand Music Awards' red carpet show and Brooke Fraser was interviewed.. standard procedures; introduced what she was wearing & her jewelleries. Here comes the catch, the interviewer lady noticed an outstanding piece of item on her finger...You guessed it, Brooke Fraser's engaged!! She went on with tune saying "I'm getting married~" while flashing her ring. When asked who're you getting married to? She pointed at a 'one look I know you're an Australian' guy saying "that guy! He's 6' 4 & with eyes like the ocean...." anyway he's Scott Ligertwood of Hillsong United, a musician-songwriter & he's possibly under 21! Can you believe that? As Haiyen said; if only I had a plane ticket to Australia dang.... haha don't worry I'm alright... Here's the video if you're interested, just watch minute 3.20 ignore the rest.

For the love of Les Paul

This is a Gibson Les Paul Standard which caught my fancy at the beginning of this year but as time goes by a mere fancy burned into a passion & now I'm all out to own one. This is one of the two most famous & widely used electric guitar in the world besides a Fender Strat. It packs both an aesthetic curvaceous beauty & a powerful sound of my preferrence (anyway cheong hoe owns one but his is a less expensive version). Whenever I set my mind on something or someone I favor, its most unlikely for me to think otherwise. This was true when I wanted the specific model of my car so shall it be for my first electric guitar! Sadly the original American Gibson branded Les Paul will cost me a fortune! enough to buy another car.. To come back down to earth I opted for an alternative which is Epiphone. A brand under the Gibson family which manufactures Les Paul models under the inventors' supervision. So its the closest I could get. Moreover, its price tag only weighs 1/4 of the original Gibson's! Of course its sound would fall short of Gibson's but its still wood so its by chance that I might find one that sounds better than its original. The first washed out pic on the far left is the Epiphone counterpart whereas the sharper pic is the original thing. Can you tell the difference?

Working hard towards the funding of this baby.. May God have mercy on me.. :P Anyway I posted this up coz this is what i'm excited about lately.
